October 2007 - Rocomotion (Railroad & Co) Track Display and Automation Provision
Since the August Update pictures, progress has centred on:
Adding the Fulgarex/Lemanco Slow Motion Drive motors remotely driving the remaining Peco/Tillig points in Barnstaple Yard.
All the motors are mounted in the topside layer of the boards, and beneath building structures.
'Wire in Tube' from Slippery Sid/ GEM Mercantrol will be completing the syystem (one operation as so far)
The Narrow Gauge incline across the Access Stairway is to be replaced by a gentle circuitous uncline around the rear of the stairs.
The 'L&B' Narrow Gauge and Tram lines will be DCC controlled, in place of Analogue Automation
- the smaller number of locos/ trams will allow the use older RocoMaus 2s (with Multimaus as Master), and the creation
of another Power District
The Rocomotion Feedback Bus
The Rocomotion Interface and Software (based on Railroad & Co TrainController) provides remote control of all the points and signals
that can be controlled by the Roco Multimaus - ie all of the track, including L&B Narrow Gauge, and Trams.
Once a track diagram has been drawn, a graphic interface allows 'point and click' control, and additional On-Screen Throttles.
By adding in Feedback Modules, and Track-Occupation Detectors, automated running can be added as desired.
In the first place, this will provide a continuous background service on the Tram and Narrow Gauge Lines,
but could also provide control of the Standard Gauge - so that more than simple 'background running' on the Test Loops can take place
when preoccupied elsewhere.
